Canadian Lumber
Spruce–Pine–Fir (SPF) lumber is widely used in both residential and commercial construction due to its cost-effectiveness and excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Western SPF lumber is typically available in larger dimensions compared to Eastern SPF, owing to favorable climate conditions and larger log sizes.
In Eastern Canada, the combination of species and growth conditions produces tall, straight trees, resulting in strong, uniform lumber. When properly dried, this lumber offers excellent dimensional stability, making it a reliable and preferred choice for structural construction applications.
